Be a Stroke Hero! Spread stroke awareness F.A.S.T.
1. Learn F.A.S.T.
Learn F.A.S.T. and tell 5 friends and family about the stroke warning signs and symptoms so they can be ready too! Remember: The "T" in F.A.S.T. means Time to Call 9-1-1! A new study shows that calling 9-1-1 and using EMS services improves stroke treatment, but more than a third of stroke patients don't use EMS.
2. Honor your stroke hero!
Share your story or nominate a friend or loved one who has been your stroke hero. It could be:
- the EMS professional who transported you or your loved one to the hospital to receive lifesaving treatment
- the caregiver who helps a survivor beat stroke each day
- the doctor who treated your stroke (or a loved one's)
- the bystander who spotted a stroke and dialed 9-1-1
3. Download the F.A.S.T. mobile app for your iPhone TODAY!
4. Add the F.A.S.T. badge to your profile picture on Facebook or Twitter to show your support.
5. Watch, be inspired and share our stroke heroes stories during American Stroke Month and beyond!

"Younger Me" Testimonies
Don't EVER ignore the signs of stroke...severe headache for 3 days...go to the hospital!!
I would insist on more exercise, maybe even team sports.
You are never too young to have a stroke and don't ignore what your body is telling you. I Had a stroke at 23, still don't know the reason, but because I was healthy I walked away with just a little slowness in my left side.
I would not stress myself, eat better, work less, & sleep right.
Meg Stull — I'm almost 6 years post-stroke. I would tell my younger self "Carpe Diem!" Enjoy every moment you have, every day of your life!
Never stop exercising and maintain your weight.
